Shaven Raven Designs is the moniker of East London-based graphic designer and illustrator, Ufuoma Urie.
Born from the experience of growing up between cultures, Shaven Raven Designs blends Nigerian heritage, British upbringing and queer identity into bold, expressive works.

Like many third culture kids — Ufuoma never saw herself reflected in media or art she grew up with. So in 2020, she began creating the things she wished existed: vibrant, culturally rich designs that celebrate diaspora humour, queer joy, West African motifs and the everyday language of identity.

Each collection mixes Ankara-inspired patterns, graphic typography, playful slang, and stories from both sides of her heritage. From affirmations to pidgin phrases, queer identifiers to pop-art colour palettes, every piece is made with one aim: To create pieces that lets people feel seen, celebrated, and represented.

What started as a sustainable greeting card brand has evolved into a full design practice that centres pride, culture and joyful visibility.
